Sunday Sermon On The Holy Bible

This Sunday's sermon will be on the Holy Bible. Like a Holy God, the Holy Bible gives one some expectation. A book called Holy one might expect to be honest in its content. Additionally, one could think a Holy book should be good for you. One might even believe a Holy book should inform you what God wants from you...

Honesty. One could reasonably expect a Holy book, to be honest. One would expect if you understand what is written in a Holy book, one would not be deceived. The Holy Bible is a historical collection of writings thousands of years old. It was not written by one author, but Holy men inspired by God wrote it for centuries. In the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah, God gives a stern warning. He promises father and son and others will perish from stumbling blocks he lays in the way. How true that is! Many are stumbled from laws in the Bible to erring in judgment. These actually treat sex and specific sex acts as worthy of death...

Good for you. One might think a Holy book should be good for you. One could expect it to be a blessing. In its stories, the Bible teaches gifts God plans for his followers. The odds are stacked against the readers, though! One has to believe in a God that is an invisible spirit. The characters in the Bible are everyday people God uses in extraordinary ways. They show what God can do with a shepherd boy, a prophet, a people whom he chooses. In the New Testament, we are offered eternal life and spirit gifts! God has great plans for you and me...

"What does God want from you," Micah asks in the Book of the Holy Bible named for him. Then he tells us God wants us to love mercy, act justly, and walk humbly with God. The Bible teaches that he is a Holy God and wants us to be Holy. God wants us to be born again spiritually. If we follow the truth to the unchanging law of liberty and set ourselves free from snares holding us back from our birthright as children of God, we shall come to see the light of life...

The Holy Bible, the Good Book also called, seems to live up to expectation. The Bible honestly warns us about the prohibition laws in its text. The Good Book strengthens morale and offers us the gift of eternal life. The Holy Bible even tells us what God wants! It is a treasury of stories teaching us what God can do...
